Description

Factorylite Insulation — Foil-Faced Glasswool for Industrial Roofs

Factorylite insulation is a foil-faced glasswool blanket for over-purlin metal roofs in factories, warehouses, retail and other commercial buildings. It improves thermal comfort, reduces condensation, and offers excellent acoustic absorption. Non-combustible and SANS-aligned.

135mm Factorylite Insulation

Best for maximum roof insulation performance in hot roof spaces and large spans.

  • Thickness: 135mm Factorylite
  • R-value: 3.46 m²·K/W
  • Roll size / coverage: 10 m × 1.2 m (12 m² per roll)
  • Density: 12 kg/m³
  • Thermal conductivity (λ): 0.039 W/m·K
  • Facing: foil-faced for radiant control and vapour resistance
  • Fire: Non-combustible (SANS 10177)
  • Typical use: over-purlin metal roof systems in factories/warehouses.

100mm Factorylite Insulation

Balanced ceiling insulation performance where headroom and budget matter.

  • Thickness: 100mm Factorylite
  • R-value: 2.56 m²·K/W
  • Roll size / coverage: 10 m × 1.2 m (12 m² per roll)
  • Density: 12 kg/m³
  • Thermal conductivity (λ): 0.039 W/m·K
  • Facing: foil-faced for radiant and condensation control
  • Fire: Non-combustible (SANS 10177)
  • Typical use: commercial roofs needing reliable thermal and acoustic gains.

75mm Factorylite Insulation

Cost-effective upgrade for moderate thermal targets.

  • Thickness: 75mm Factorylite
  • R-value: 1.92 m²·K/W
  • Roll size / coverage: 10 m × 1.2 m (12 m² per roll)
  • Density: 12 kg/m³
  • Thermal conductivity (λ): 0.039 W/m·K
  • Facing: foil-faced to help limit radiant heat and moisture
  • Fire: Non-combustible (SANS 10177)
  • Typical use: light industrial and commercial roofs with mid-range performance needs.

50mm Factorylite Insulation

Entry-level blanket for basic thermal/acoustic improvement.

  • Thickness: 50mm Factorylite
  • R-value: 1.28 m²·K/W
  • Roll size / coverage: 10 m × 1.2 m (12 m² per roll)
  • Density: 12 kg/m³
  • Thermal conductivity (λ): 0.039 W/m·K
  • Facing: foil-faced; assists with vapour control
  • Fire: Non-combustible (SANS 10177)
  • Typical use: commercial roofs, carports, ancillary spaces.

Fire Testing and Safety Ratings

  • Non-combustible — tested to SANS 10177 Part 5
  • Class 1 Fire Index — tested to SANS 10177 Part 3
  • Class A1, s1, d0 — tested to EN 13823
  • Euroclass A1 — certified to EN 13501-1
  • ASTM E84 (USA): Flame Spread Index 20, Smoke Development 5
  • ASTM E84 (WMF): Flame Spread Index 20, Smoke Development 15

Installation & Compliance Notes

  • Install over purlins with correct tensioning and sealed foil laps to limit condensation.
  • Select the thickness that achieves your target roof R-value for SANS 10400-XA compliance in your climate zone (thicker = higher R-value).
